Revel was born on December 2nd, 2020 from our Baker x Fahren breeding and is co-owned with Kala Sizemore.
Kala and I met through mutual friends at a training facility. She needed a dog to show at her last AKC Junior Invitational since her own dog was injured. I was going to show Asti and Fahren was tagging along with nothing to do so I volunteered her. Kala and Fahren were an awesome team, and in running Fahren, Kala discovered how awesome Golden Retrievers were. When I bred Fahren it was a given one of her puppies would be going to live with Kala!
Kala helped me raise Fahren’s litter and covered puppy-sitting duties once I had to return to work during the day. She picked Revel (then Ham) pretty much from Day 1 and I told her not to get attached and “wait and see”. From the beginning, they had an instant connection, and that never went away. As a puppy, Revel would sit and cry once Kala left to go home and he was “stuck” with us.
Revel is “Fahren Jr.” in so many ways, he looks like a boy version of her and so many of his antics remind me of her! He has lived the “frat boy” lifestyle with Kala as a college student for the last couple of years and with very limited training (college is time-consuming!) has made his debut in several events including dock diving, agility, rally, hunt tests, and Fast CAT. He is super easy to live with but always ready for whatever Kala does!
At the 2022 GRCA National Specialty Revel earned the Triathlon Award at just 21 months old. He qualified in agility, earned a junior hunter pass, and passed the CCA. We hope to finish up his Junior Hunter title this spring and Kala will be continuing to show him in other events once she graduates.
Revel is approximately 22” tall at the withers and weighs about 50 lbs.
